Our client provides innovative construction and engineering solutions to a range of government and commercial customers across the country. Operating a range of standalone but complimentary businesses across Modular, Civil and Commercial Construction, the Group is also actively acquiring and integrating a range of sub trade and design services companies creating a unique, quality focussed total construction solution.
To support growth, we are searching for a Senior Manager to ensure robust Health & Safety policies and procedures are in place and that H&S standards are upheld across all Group companies in order to deliver a zero-harm work environment.
The role
- Review, update, and manage current H&S systems and plans for the Group as well as creating new ones as expansions requires
- Uphold/monitor H&S standards within the various Group companies and perform regular audits to ensure policies & procedures meet legal requirements
- Coordinate training programmes
- Manage compliance/injury investigations
- Supervise junior team members

The Candidate
- Tertiary qualified in Health and Safety or related practice
- 5 years’ experience in a Health & Safety Manager/Team Leader position, preferably within the Construction/Engineering industry
- History of creating H&S plans and policies for an organisation
- Member of NZ Institute of Safety Management
- Outstanding communication and conflict management skills as this is a hands-on role working with all employees to ensure H&S standards are met
- A strong work ethic as well as the ability to work well under pressure are essential for this position
